Apprenticeship at SAGER: Insight into Livio's 2nd year of apprenticeship
My name is Livio Bolliger and I am currently in the second year of my apprenticeship as a Businessman EFZ at SAGER AG. In this article, I give a personal insight into my training at SAGER, my tasks in the company and my experiences to date.
I made a conscious decision in favour of a commercial apprenticeship because I like working in an office, appreciate varied tasks and want to take on responsibility independently. I got to know SAGER AG through my parents. Right from my first impression, I was impressed by the positive working atmosphere, the modern workplaces and the short commute.
In this report, I will show you how my apprenticeship is organised, which departments I go through and what I learn in the company.

This is how my training at SAGER is structured

The apprenticeship as Businessman EFZ lasts three years. During this time, I combine practical work in the company with vocational school and inter-company courses.

I attend the HKV vocational school in Aarau two and a half days a week. There I specialise in subjects such as business and society, German, English and industry-specific content. In addition, SAGER AG enables me to complete the SIZ certificate in IT and the First Certificate in English. These additional qualifications strengthen my digital and language skills.

In the inter-company courses, I learn practical skills that support me in my day-to-day work. This includes, among other things:

  • Understand operational processes
  • Industry-specific expertise
  • the professional use of digital tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint

One of the great advantages of training at SAGER is the change of departments. During my apprenticeship, I pass through various departments, including:

  • Internal sales
  • Accounting
  • Personnel
  • Purchasing

This gives me a comprehensive insight into internal processes and an understanding of how the individual departments work together.

My day-to-day tasks

I currently work in the accounts department. My tasks here include the following:

  • Recognising incoming payments
  • Pay bills
  • Send reminders
  • Cash register

I work closely with my practice trainer. I particularly appreciate the fact that I am trusted and allowed to work independently.

I have learnt through my daily tasks:

  • work in a structured and precise manner
  • Setting the right priorities
  • Taking responsibility for processes
  • communicate professionally with internal and external contacts

In addition to my specialist knowledge, I am also developing my social skills. Respectful interaction with colleagues and customers is a matter of course for me today.

What I particularly appreciate about training at SAGER

What I particularly appreciate about SAGER AG is the good working atmosphere and the modern way of working. I feel that I am taken seriously as an apprentice and actively supported. Questions are answered at all times and I receive constructive feedback that helps me to develop professionally and personally.

The varied training programme allows me to discover my strengths and try out different areas. This is exactly what makes training at SAGER so valuable.

My view of the future

After my apprenticeship, I'm not yet sure which path I will take. I am particularly interested in further training in finance, marketing or IT. However, the apprenticeship at SAGER offers me a solid basis for further development in various directions.

I am grateful to be part of a company that takes apprentices seriously and actively invests in promoting young talent.

Conclusion

To summarise, I can say that the apprenticeship at SAGER is very varied and instructive. I gain insights into different departments and am given responsibility early on. For me, the apprenticeship at SAGER is an ideal basis for my professional future.

I would recommend SAGER AG as a training organisation because you receive professional support here and can develop both professionally and personally.
