Why is it essential to invest in apprentices? The acute shortage of skilled labour in many sectors shows how urgently qualified personnel are needed. And every successful career starts with a solid education. Anyone who invests in promoting young talent is investing directly in the future of their own company and in the future of our society. In the construction and commercial sectors in particular, the targeted promotion of young talent is becoming increasingly important. Companies that train apprentices today secure qualified specialists in the long term and strengthen their competitiveness in the long term. Sound training at SAGER makes an active contribution to securing expertise and quality in the Swiss construction environment.
Laying the foundations for tomorrow today
A good apprenticeship not only teaches specialised knowledge and practical skills, but also important social skills such as teamwork, responsibility and independence. These skills contribute both to professional development and significantly to personal development. Practical training at SAGER in particular combines theoretical knowledge with real projects and promotes personal responsibility right from the start.
Training at Sager AG
The training for Management assistant EFZ in the "Building and Living" sector is an interesting entry into the professional world. Training at SAGER not only teaches traditional commercial skills, but also provides a deep understanding of products, processes and customer needs in the insulation sector.
During the three years of their apprenticeship, our apprentices are trained in various departments. It is important to us that, after an introductory and familiarisation phase, they can actively work alongside us in the individual specialist departments. In this way, they are given responsibility early on and are gradually integrated into operational processes.
They come into contact with a wide range of internal and external professional groups and support our experienced vocational and practical trainers in their area of responsibility. This close support ensures that theory and practice are optimally combined.
The future specialists can expect varied and responsible tasks that make everyday working life exciting and rich in learning. From order processing to customer contact and internal projects, our apprentices experience the entire value creation process.
We prioritise the targeted development of personal skills. We emphasise quick comprehension, enjoyment of new things, motivation, a flair for figures and an affinity for languages. These skills are crucial for a successful commercial career and are systematically developed during training at SAGER.
Together with the vocational school, which is attended one to two days a week, and a total of 16 inter-company courses, our apprentices receive practical training in a varied environment. In this way, we create a solid basis for sustainable professional development.
Training with competences
Training according to areas of expertise came into force with the 2023 CT reform. Training at SAGER has also been adapted accordingly and consistently aligned with the new requirements.
The traditional school subjects have been replaced by five areas of expertise that promote the interaction of the four core areas (subject, methodological, social and personal skills). The aim is to optimally prepare learners for the digitalised and networked world of work. Digital processes, structured working methods and independent action are therefore at the centre of our training.
In-house training: more than just expertise
In addition to the training focal points described above and specified by the professional association, our corporate values are also passed on to the future business people. This strengthens the trainees' sense of belonging to us as a training company, whereby they learn to convey the company's values to the outside world in addition to their professional expertise. Reliability, quality and team spirit have a lasting impact on training at SAGER.
This can create a competitive advantage in the future search for motivated new apprentices. At the same time, it creates a strong sense of identification with the company.
Training completed - what next?
After successfully completing a commercial apprenticeship, the professional world offers numerous opportunities for further training. Whenever possible, we offer our apprentices prospects at SAGER after they have passed their final examination, even beyond their apprenticeship. This is the promotion of young talent at SAGER. Our aim is to retain talented people in the company in the long term and to develop them further in a targeted manner.
